The system has undergone demanding testing by the Indian Army in high-altitude environments. Singh said the munition successfully completed Army trials in areas such as Siachen, passing the tests with flying colours. Successful high-altitude testing is particularly significant because thin air, low temperatures, and difficult operating conditions can place considerable demands on propulsion, avionics, communications, and autonomous flight systems.

The development also appears to be part of a broader Tata Advanced Systems effort to build a family of long-range autonomous strike systems. Singh disclosed that the company is separately developing systems with a range of around 400 kilometres, indicating that the company's ambitions extend considerably beyond the currently contracted capability. The combination of longer-range autonomous weapons and indigenous production could become increasingly important for the Indian military.

Loitering munitions occupy a unique position between conventional missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles, allowing operators to search for targets, loiter over an area, and engage when an appropriate target is identified.
