Defence News Nexus respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects the same in return. This page explains how we handle third-party source material and how rights holders can request review or removal of content.

1. Our Original Content

The Site's compiled presentation, layout, branding, AI-generated commentary, narration audio, and video productions are the property of Defence News Nexus, except where explicitly credited to a third party.

2. Third-Party Source Material

Articles on the Site are informed by, summarise, or reference publicly available reporting from third-party defense news sources (including, among others, IDRW.org and other open-source defense media). This is done in reliance on the fair dealing provisions of Section 52 of the Copyright Act, 1957, which permits use of copyrighted work for the purposes of reporting current events and for criticism or review, subject to reasonable limits.

Where an article is substantially based on a specific third-party report, we aim to reference the original source. If you are a rights holder and believe a specific article does not adequately attribute your work, or goes beyond what fair dealing permits, please use the process below - we will review it in good faith and add attribution, amend, or remove the content as warranted.

3. How to Submit a Copyright Complaint

If you believe content on this Site infringes your copyright, please submit a written complaint via our Grievance Redressal form or by emailing tcfortwitter@proton.me, including:

1. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed (e.g. a link to your original article).
2. The exact URL(s) on defencenewsnexus.in of the material you believe infringes it.
3. Your name, organisation (if applicable), and contact details.
4. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
5. A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your complaint is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on their behalf.

4. Our Response Process

In line with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, we will acknowledge receipt of a valid complaint within 24 hours and aim to resolve it - whether by adding attribution, editing, or removing the content - within 15 days of receipt.

5. Repeat Concerns

We take repeated, substantiated copyright concerns from the same source seriously and will review our sourcing practices accordingly.
