India's Space Programme: A Journey Towards Viksit Bharat

India's space programme has made significant strides in recent years, with the country achieving a soft landing near the Moon's south pole in 2023. This historic feat marked a major milestone in India's space exploration journey, which began in 1962 with the launch of its first rocket from Thumba.

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has come a long way since its humble beginnings. From assembling its first rocket with equipment gathered from across the world to developing three cryogenic propulsion systems entirely on its own, ISRO has demonstrated its capabilities in space exploration.

The development of cryogenic propulsion systems was a significant challenge for India, as the technology was denied to the country in the early 1990s by other nations. However, ISRO persevered and successfully developed the technology, marking a major achievement in the country's space programme.

ISRO's cryogenic engines have played a crucial role in the country's space exploration efforts. The engines have been used in several successful missions, including the Chandrayaan-3 mission, which made India the first country to achieve a soft landing near the Moon's south pole.

The success of the Chandrayaan-3 mission has paved the way for future space exploration efforts. ISRO has outlined its roadmap for the coming decade, which includes several ambitious projects, including the Gaganyaan human spaceflight programme, the Bharatiya Antariksh Station, and the Chandrayaan-4 mission.

The Gaganyaan programme aims to send humans to space by 2025, while the Bharatiya Antariksh Station is expected to be launched by 2028. The Chandrayaan-4 mission, on the other hand, is designed to bring lunar samples back to Earth.

ISRO has also announced plans to develop a next-generation launch vehicle capable of placing 30,000 kg in low earth orbit. The launch vehicle is expected to be developed by 2025, and will play a crucial role in future space exploration efforts.

In addition to its space exploration efforts, ISRO has also been working on developing partially reusable launch vehicle systems. The systems are currently under development and are expected to be launched by 2025.

ISRO's achievements in space exploration have not gone unnoticed. The organisation has received widespread recognition for its efforts, including several international awards and accolades.

As India looks towards 2047, its journey towards a Viksit Bharat is being written in the rockets built on its soil. The country's space programme has come a long way since its humble beginnings, and is now poised to make even greater strides in the coming years.

ISRO's Chairman, V Narayanan, has urged students to look beyond conventional career ambitions and towards national contribution. He has encouraged students to pursue careers in space exploration, and to contribute to building a developed India by 2047.

In conclusion, India's space programme has made significant strides in recent years, with the country achieving a soft landing near the Moon's south pole. The programme has come a long way since its humble beginnings, and is now poised to make even greater strides in the coming years. With its ambitious plans for space exploration, India is set to make a mark in the space industry, and to contribute to building a developed India by 2047.
