India's Indigenous Guided Rocket Revolution: A Game-Changer for Defence Capabilities\n\nJSR Dynamics, a leading Indian defence company, has made a significant breakthrough in the development of a guided rocket system that can be launched from both the ground and aircraft. This innovative technology offers a lower-cost precision-strike option for the Indian Army and Air Force, enhancing indigenous guided weapons capabilities.\n\nAccording to JSR Dynamics, their approach would provide 12 guided rockets for the cost of a single imported equivalent. This is a significant advantage, considering the high cost of imported guided weapons. The company's goal is to develop indigenous guided weapons for India's armed forces and potentially friendly export customers.\n\nJSR Dynamics has already listed a 300mm guided rocket among its products. However, the company has not disclosed the range of the new system. Estimates suggest a range of 250-300 km, which is comparable to other guided rockets in the market.\n\nGuided rockets offer a relatively economical means of striking selected targets at stand-off ranges. However, their overall value is determined by factors beyond unit price, including accuracy, warhead effect, reliability, production volumes, and integration costs. India already possesses a number of precision-strike systems, including the air-launched Rampage missile and the indigenous Pinaka rocket family.\n\nThe Defence Research and Development Organisation has completed the development trials of the guided Pinaka system, evaluating its performance against requirements for range, accuracy, and consistency. A new dual-launch rocket could potentially offer another option, if it meets the services' requirements and undergoes the necessary development and evaluation process.\n\nLaunching from both the ground and from aircraft places different demands on a weapon's structure, propulsion, guidance, and integration. Commonality would need to be demonstrated through testing. JSR Dynamics' innovative approach could potentially address these challenges and provide a cost-effective solution for the Indian defence forces.\n\nIn an interview with BharatShakti, JSR Dynamics showcased the airframe of the weapon, highlighting its potential utility for two services. The company's vision is to develop indigenous guided weapons that can be integrated into the Indian defence forces' existing infrastructure.\n\nJSR Dynamics' Rampage Class Guided Rocket is a significant step towards achieving this vision. The company's innovative approach could potentially revolutionize the Indian defence industry, providing a cost-effective solution for precision-strike capabilities.\n\nAs the Indian defence forces continue to modernize and upgrade their capabilities, JSR Dynamics' Rampage Class Guided Rocket is an exciting development that could potentially change the game.
