The Containerised Tubular Shooting Range (CTSR) manufactured by Zen Technologies is a 40-foot transportable facility designed to provide simulated targets at distances from 25 to 300 metres.\n\nAccording to the Indian Embassy, the CTSR features a Master Control Unit, Smart Target System, bullet-containment trap, ventilation system, visual and acoustic insulation systems, and an After Action Review module. This state-of-the-art facility can accommodate rifles up to 7.62mm calibre and handguns up to 9mm calibre, supporting various training exercises securely.\n\nThe CTSR is a compact and transportable alternative to conventional outdoor live-fire ranges, reducing the area required for weapons training. This makes it an ideal solution for countries with limited land availability or those seeking to establish a secure and controlled training environment.\n\nThe Kyrgyz Ministry of Defence requested the CTSR through India's technical-assistance framework, and the system was transported to Bishkek aboard a special service aircraft on August 22, 2026. Infrastructure construction and installation at the Military Institute are underway, after which Zen Technologies specialists will conduct a training programme for Kyrgyz personnel.\n\nThis gift is part of India's broader efforts to enhance defence cooperation with Kyrgyzstan. In April 2026, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh gifted two BHISHM Cubes to the Kyrgyz Defence Minister. India also provided 24 computers to Kyrgyz military institutions in March, followed by installation of wargaming software and training.\n\nFor Kyrgyzstan, the containerised design offers a compact option for conducting controlled small-arms training without requiring a large conventional outdoor range. Its transportable architecture also makes it suitable for places in which establishing a traditional firing range could require greater land, infrastructure, and safety requirements.\n\nThe CTSR is a testament to India's commitment to strengthening defence ties with its Central Asian neighbours. This cutting-edge training facility will enable Kyrgyzstan to enhance its military capabilities and improve the safety and efficiency of its training exercises.\n\nAs India continues to expand its defence cooperation with Kyrgyzstan, this gift is a significant step forward in their bilateral relationship. The CTSR will serve as a valuable asset for the Kyrgyz military, providing a secure and controlled environment for training and exercises.\n\nIn conclusion, India's gift of the CTSR to Kyrgyzstan is a significant development in their defence cooperation. This cutting-edge training facility will enable Kyrgyzstan to enhance its military capabilities and improve the safety and efficiency of its training exercises, further strengthening their bilateral relationship.
